Siewierz

The urban park in Siewierz, part of the "Zagłębiowski Park Linearny”/Zagłębiowski Linear Park project, was designed by Arup in collaboration with BOOM studio.

The new project seamlessly integrates with the natural terrain and existing vegetation while ensuring well-planned pedestrian and cycling routes and diverse functions. We successfully transformed the area by creating a green space with numerous ecological and recreational benefits that harmoniously utilize the natural qualities and local contexts.

The main goal of the Siewierz Urban Park was to protect the biodiversity of the Przemsza and Brynica river valleys by creating attractive park spaces that serve residents as places for recreation, relaxation, ecological education, as well as social activation and integration. The project involved the transformation of previously unused and devastated areas into a green oasis with multifaceted impact, taking into account the natural and locational values of the park area.

In recognition of its excellent implementation, the Siewierz Municipality received an award from the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship in the 21st edition of the "Best Space of the Silesian Voivodeship" competition.
