Mogilska

Kraków

The revitalization of the historic buildings of the former Mills on Mogilska Street in Kraków aims to create a new, resident and pedestrian-friendly urban fabric. The main design challenge was to blend industrial architecture with a modern residential building on the adjacent plot. The level differences between the objects became our inspiration to create a shared space that would connect the entire complex. Through terraced stairs, terraces, and large planters with tall trees, we were able to achieve a harmonious fusion that naturally provides places for relaxation in intimate spaces while integrating them with each other.

As part of the project, we created four spaces that take their form from industrial silos, which have been adapted to new functions: a small amphitheater, a sunken water feature with an impressive tree, a hidden pedestrian walkway with underground parking access, and a large plaza covered with sail-shaped canopies, offering a place for leisure. All these spaces were harmoniously integrated into a circular shape, creating a cohesive whole.

The private courtyards, designated for the residents, serve as tranquil relaxation areas separated from the main public pedestrian circulation. Designed in this manner, they allow residents to enjoy privacy and peace, creating distinct oases within the complex.
