Sławków

The educational trails in Sławków, part of the "Zagłębiowski Park Linearny”/Zagłębiowski Linear Parkwere created in collaboration between Arup and BOOM studio. The main goal of the project was to showcase unique and attractive tourist areas in the Biała Przemsza Valley, which are also protected areas with significant natural value. This investment allowed for the connection of the existing pedestrian and cycling path with places of high natural and scenic attractiveness.

To blend with the landscape, two footbridges were incorporated, crossing over the canal that was used in the 18th century for transporting materials to the rolling mill, as well as an embankment that is an integral part of the historic rolling mill complex from 1825. The designed trail is located in the former riverbed, adding to its natural charm. The alignment of the path along the old river channel was made possible by the discovery of archival maps from the 18th century.
